Mobrio gives Russian blogging a boost

Mobrio, the London-based mobile web services company and owners of the popular openZpace and theZpace blogging services, announced today a strategic agreement that will provide fully integrated blogging services to all Russian speaking countries. An exclusive agreement has been signed with Pentagon Sales, an internet and technology company targeting Russian speaking countries. The accord provides for the sale and integration of a Russian language version of Mobrio’s white-label openZpace fixed and mobile blogging platform.

“This is an exciting strategic development for Mobrio. The agreement means that a Russian version of our openZpace platform will shortly be available for deployment in 16 Russian-speaking countries. It will be marketed and sold as a white-label blogging platform that can be integrated into Russian language websites and online communities.” remarked Julian Swallow, Mobrio’s CEO. “We believe there is significant potential for blogging in Eastern Europe and this agreement propels Mobrio into a market estimated to be in excess of 220 million consumers.”

Swallow continues, “Blogging is a growing phenomenon all over the world and as a leading provider of fixed and mobile white label blogging platforms, Mobrio is ideally positioned to support and exploit this trend.”

The agreement will make openZpace available for deployment in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan. It will offer users all those features currently available on the English version of openZpace and the two platforms will continue to be developed in parallel.

The wealth of features available on both versions of openZpace include:

  • Create professional-looking personal web sites quickly and easily and without any specialised knowledge
  • View and publish content at a PC or using a mobile phone
  • Upload content via email, SMS, MMS, WAP, a PC browser or using the dedicated openZpace mobile application called moJave
  • Customise the layout and appearance of a site
  • Expand a site by authorising ‘friends’ to add content or comment
  • Share digital photo albums, sound and video clips
  • Create and maintain dynamic news feeds even on a mobile (RSS)
  • Maintain an ‘Events Calendar’ so a group can be kept aware of upcoming activities
  • Send, receive and manage all email (includes automated SPAM and virus control)
  • Be compatible with other blogging tools and services that support the Blogger™ API
  • Reduce the delays and costs normally associated with updating a corporate web site
