Mobrio showcases theZpace, the first Personal Publishing (‘Blogging’) Service designed for both Fixed and Moble Internet Users
Mobile web services company, Mobrio, founded by industry veterans, Chris Hennings, John Holloway and Julian Swallow will today provide the first public demonstrations of theZpace, the world’s first personal publishing (‘blogging’) service designed for users of both the fixed and mobile Internet.
Blogging on the fixed Internet has attracted several million users, predominantly in North America, in just a few short years. The phenomenon has captured the imagination of those who wish to share their news and views with friends, colleagues or like-minded individuals connected to the Web. Moblogging (short for mobile blogging) is taking hold in Europe and Japan. Today, camera phone users can share their snaps with the world by uploading them directly from their mobile to on-line photo albums via email or MMS.
Mobrio’s theZpace bridges the divide that separates today’s fixed and mobile Internet personal web site services. theZpace offers integrated, state-of-the-art personal publishing capabilities regardless of whether you are on the move, at work or at home.
theZpace enables its users to:
- Create professional-looking personal web sites quickly and easily and without any specialised knowledge
- View and publish content at a PC or using a mobile phone
- Upload content via email, SMS, MMS, WAP, a PC browser or using the dedicated theZpace mobile application
- Customise the layout and appearance of a site
- Expand a site by authorising ‘friends’ to add content or comment
- Share digital photo albums, sound and video clips
- Create and maintain dynamic news feeds even on a mobile
- Maintain an ‘Events Calendar’ so a group can be kept aware of upcoming activities
- Send, receive and manage all email (includes automated SPAM and virus control)
- Be compatible with other blogging tools and services that support the Blogger™ API
- Trial the service for 30 days without any charge and then select a suitable service level starting at £2.99 per month
Julian Swallow, Mobrio’s CEO remarked, “To date, personal web sites have been restricted to those who subscribe to one of the mainly American providers of fixed Internet blogging services. In Europe, mobile users have seen the attraction of sharing daily experiences by posting camera phone pictures to the Web. At theZpace, these capabilities and much more are seamlessly meshed to provide a comprehensive personal publishing service for all who wish to connect with others to share their news and views, any time, anywhere.”
Mobrio will be demonstrating theZpace on stand C12 at Mobile Content World 2004, which takes place on 21st to 22nd September 2004 at London’s Excel.
