Chris has played an influential role in the introduction and exploitation of novel information and communication technologies for over twenty years. Having trained as an Economist and obtaining a B.Sc. from the University of Exeter, Chris worked as a consultant, implementor and manager specialising in the areas of corporate information systems, business analysis, project and system development processes, change management, software system design and human factors. Chris founded Right Hand Software in 1993 to focus on the development of software for the then emergent product category of mobile computing devices and, prior to joining Purple Software in 1995 worked with companies such as Ericsson Nokia, Psion, Symbian and Vodafone to design and develop some of the first products integrating the capabilities of mobile phones and PDAs. At Purple Software, Chris was responsible both for the alignment of the company's product portfolio with the development of new mobile devices, technologies and services and for the conception, design and development of many individual products. Chris has a wide ranging experience of the major mobile device platforms, server side technologies and associated communication protocols but believes that for adoption of products and services to be optimal, such technical details must be utterly transparent to the consumer. The best products simply, "do what you want", "work how you expect", "do the right thing - first time" and most likely make you smile. | ||
