Growth helps Mobrio expand operations

Appoints new Director of Business Development and opens software centre in Kiev

Following a growth in sales, Mobrio - the mobile web services company and owners of the popular openZpace and theZpace hosted blogging services - has expanded its operations with the appointment of Laurence Guy as its new Director of Business Development. The company has also established a software development centre in Kiev, Ukraine.

Laurence Guy has worked in business development within the technology sector for a number of years. He has previously worked as UK Sales Director for Logicom-Sanyo SA, the French Telecoms company and Accelerated Logic, a Dutch electronics company. He is also the founder of joinfriends.com, the second largest reunion portal in the Russian speaking world. He holds an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a first class degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Birmingham.

Swallow continues. “We are also expanding our software development capacity and following a strategic review, we have decided to establish an offshore software development centre in Kiev. The lower cost, high quality and ready availability of well qualified software engineers was a key factor in our decision to select the Ukraine. As well as being closer to Europe than India, the level of English language competence and good IT infrastructure also make it an ideal location for a software development base.
